| Point Walter Spit, at Bicton, Western Australia Sunset, January 1st, 2000 Location Details: The Point Walter Spit stretches way out into the Swan River at Bicton, and was a great vantage point to watch the sun go down on the first day of the new Millenium. There is a wonderful expanse of water and sky all around you. The smoke from a distant bushfire can be seen adjacent to the setting sun and a leftover party whistle lies forlorn and forgotten on the wet sand in the foreground - unfortunate mementos of the New Year's Celebrations the night before. Perth was in the middle of a record-breaking heatwave, and many families were out picnicking, swimming, and walking the length of the Spit, taking advantage of the cooling evening breezes. A peaceful end to an historic day. Tech Specs: We captured the images with a Canon EOS 620 camera with a Sigma 17-35mm AF lens, on a Kaidan QuickPan Magnum Head. Panorama stitched with The VR Worx.
The audio was captured on a Panasonic NVDS11 DV Camcorder, and authored
into the panorama with Squamish Media Group's SoundSaVR. |
