Wrinkle in Time 4

Kangaroo Paws at King's Park
1.34pm September 23rd, 1998: synch shoot

About this panorama: We walked down one of the many bush tracks which travel through the park. We were looking for a less-structured environment than the formal Wildflower Festival, and we found it. This sequence was photographed with a very shallow depth of field, to bring the striking Kangaroo Paws in the opening view into greater prominence, and soften the background details. This panorama sequence will ultimately be used in a larger, artistic piece, but for now, this is our 'Synch Shoot' pano, for the Wrinkle in Time 4.

Location: King's Park Botanical Gardens is situated on a hillside overlooking the city of Perth and the Swan River, in Western Australia. The park contains many amenities such as fountains, lawns, playgrounds and restaurants, but is also famous for its bushland areas and nature trails. The park holds its annual Wildflower Show in the spring, to showcase the profusion of native flowers. The show also highlights the pioneering research work conducted by the King's Park botanical scientists into the conservation and promotion of our unique Western Australian flora.

Tech Specs: We used a Canon EOS 620 with 35-105 AF lens, mounted onto a Kaidan QuickPan Magnum Head and Manfrotto Tripod.

Acknowledgements: We would like to express our gratitude to the King's Park Botanical Gardens Board of Management for their permission to photograph at the site.
