The deck of the Duyfken, viewed from within the aftcastle. 3rd November, 1998 This position is where the helmsman will stand, within the aftcastle, not from on top of the deck as most would expect. The helmsman will steer by watching the sails through some small windows above, relying also on compass, charts, and lookouts for further directions. The opening view of Duyfken Node 14 shows the exterior of this cabin area, especially the small viewports.
