| In the Courtyard, Bending Planks over Fire. The planks are weighed and roped down on a frame over a slow fire to carefully warp them in the required directions. A diligent shipwright appears in several places in this panorama, industriously stoking and monitoring the fire. Another shipwright waits patiently in the Bosun's Chair for us to get out of his way. Stockpiles of raw, partly finished, and scrap lumber are stacked in various places around this area. Through the limestone archway, the Duyfken's stern and the steps up to the main viewing platform can be seen. Tech Specs: We captured the images with a Canon EOS 620 camera with a 17-35mm rectilinear zoom lens, on a Kaidan QuickPan Magnum Head. |
