Created with Painter 6, using digital chalks, watercolours, smudge brushes, tailored brushes, pencils, and the distorto impasto brush for the fluid streaks in her hair. Important themes in the painting: magnolias, the river, the sprite bound in the tree, Nyssa'a cloak of white-blonde hair, the way the strong sunlight illuminates her face so clearly yet also casts a mask of secrecy and reserve upon her face. The steady gaze of the child.
